Overall result...... by robz

Overall result......

Well - it's finished and the jury is still out.
I wanted to use this to match hues vertically and to experiment with the "weightiness' of images to give an upward trend across the page. End result? I think it would work better flipped vertically - and get rid of the pink!! And the first 3 asymmetric images and the horrible heading!!
Beautifully presented - a lot of thought has gone into your calendar and it's paid off for sure!

@fbailey Thanks for your kind feedback FB. There are bits I like and bits I don't - this exercise certainly makes you learn a lot. And it's so good to see the other calendars - so many creative, beautifully executed examples. :)

really interesting how you approached yours - and a pleasing result. I personally have learned so much and am already thinking of so many things for next year! I can see that putting thought into the full calendar first is worthwhile.

Well done, they look brilliant together. I love your take on this theme. fav

I think your most successful column was the blue one- I like how it seems to read as its own picture from top to bottom. The red column would have done the same if the top picture was the same mosaic as the others. And believe or not, I think the pink column is successful too- but yes, you and I will definitely be rejoicing next Sunday when we don't have to submit another pink shot. LOL All in all I liked your version of the rainbow and I think your calendar looks fine!

@koalagardens Thanks so much KoalaGardens - you're so right - I think is one of the most challenging challenges - and I've only done it twice. I guess you just get better and better each year :) I thought I might start collecting possible photos through the year and just have them saved in a folder- use as backups for the days when you can't find anything suitable. Thanks again for having a look! Cheers Rob

@onewing Thanks so much for your lovely comment Babs (and the fav!) I'm really pleased to hear that you liked the vertical columns etc - now it just needs to have better colours and be not so "in your face.." Ahh - there's always next year! :)

@olivetreeann Hi Ann - thanks so much for your thoughtful feedback! I was really interested to hear your comment about the blue - do you think it would work if each column had a similar sort of setup??

@fr1da Hi again Frida - I read your comment on the other one first! This was my second go at it and I wanted to be more organized. I don't know if you're supposed to but I took a lot of the images very early in the month and matched them up so that I had a bit of an overview from the beginning. It's still tricky and annoying to get them to match!! I think I might start a folder and collect possible images through out the year - that would make it less time consuming in March! Thanks for your interest. Cheers Rob
