I had grand plans for today's pic, with me balancing on my pointe shoes since there's quite a lot of strength required... Unfortunately I worked out that my skills aren't quite there yet (I only started pointe at Easter). Composing a pic, getting the light etc. right, setting the timer and then getting into the right spot on pointe shoes was a bit more than I could manage.
Still, my shoes are pretty strong, managing to keep me upright most of the time, so I figure they're ok for today's challenge pic :)

Pointe is extremely hard- especially on the toes. I think it's hard to be your own model no matter what you're doing in the picture! So, this shot works too and it's lovely in b&w. Very artistic!
wow - pointe shoes - I gave up ballet when i was 11 - i got too tall and my feet were too big! i would've gone en pointe int eh following year. great shot - lovely light
Great shot. Love the BW with this! Pointe isnt easy, it does take amazing strength to pose let alone compose all that. Cant wait to see your shots when you are able to get it all together they will be great!
OMG!! this is eerie... i have almost that exact same pic hanging on my wall of my toe shoes.... are those yours?? i actually won 2nd place in a photo competition with it..... probably 25-30 years ago, now. :) i'll maybe scan it, and post it :) cuz it's not digital obviously :D
