Moon by alia_801

Moon

It looks more like a flying bread roll to me, but this is actually the Moon...

Treasure hunt completed - hoorah!

oh yeah! congrats on finishing your hunt! Love the framing of this one. Oh - and can you tell me anything about dark energy and dark matter for lit review topics?!?! I am physics-illiterate!!
February 2nd, 2012
I like the darkness of the photo.

Lol funny description ^^ And great shot !

Nicely captured - no moon tonight for me, only rain.

Looks more like half a floating cookie than a flying bread roll! *LOL* No, just kidding, I think it's gorgeous. This is a great shot!

Well done....
February 2nd, 2012
oh wow! you did it with the G12!!!! need to try that as soon as the weather allows me to do it! fab and fav:)

@buggirl Skip dark energy/dark matter as topics. They're still too hypothetical and airy fairy. You need to pic a specific type of detection or something, but they really wouldn't lend themselves to good reviews.

@woot I recommend a tripod! (my EXIF is in the link if that's helpful...)
February 2nd, 2012
@woot Oh, and it was quite light outside when I took this - the sky was actually blue!
February 2nd, 2012
@alia_801 thanx Alia: I did look at your exif. So it's maximum focal length and f/4.5: I read on the Internet that around f4.0 / f4.5 is the "sweet spot" of the G12. I gues that it is the reason why you didn't go for f8 and longer times, I'm I correct?

Nice one. Moon shots are hard. Getting the cow in as well is even harder :-)
February 2nd, 2012
Awesome moon! Congratulations on finishing your challenge! You did a great job on it
February 2nd, 2012
Ha ha ha. I like the description, and I think it's a great moon picture! It's a view of the moon's timing that isn't always captured. Congrats on finishing the treasure hunt too! What will you do for February? I'm thinking of making "light" a theme, since I know so little about it.
February 2nd, 2012
Too funny! However, I have seen many moon shots just like this on the PP! This is awesome and congrats on finishing your challenge! Great job!

Wonderful moon shot!

@woot I played with f/8 and f/4.5 - the f/4.5 just came out better this time. Here's one I took before with f/8: http://365project.org/alia_801/365/2011-05-09
February 3rd, 2012
@alia_801 thanx. I like this a lot more. Don't know how to compare the sharpness, since the two images are quite different

February 3rd, 2012
A flying bread roll! I'm going to be chuckling over that image all day! This is beautiful.
