Stop forgetting that! Off to school now, mama. See you soon!
There is something about capturing real life candids, and especially my own life, that is particularly precious to me. It's not posed, it's not put on...it just is.
This is a peek into my life and for that reason and for what it conveys, it is perhaps one of my favorite photos of mine.
Clara is the sweet face in the rear, holding up the hand...the sign is the ASL version of I Love You. We do that as she passes by on the bus. That I captured this while throwing the sign to her makes me grateful. I am loved, she is, too. We are blessed.
How lovely to see that little smiling face first thing in the morning (the fall is forgotten, I hope) Love this capture even more in SC (but you knew that already, didn't you?)
You are indeed blessed. Precious captures are often not the ones that are most technical, well composed, correctly exposed etc etc etc but ones that mean something, ones that capture for ever a moment to remember and treasure, that for me despite my strivings to master all the skills of photography better is why I love it so much. The emotion and power of feelings that can be created by the art of photography.
This is inded lovely, Amanda, for the moment and for the photo quality :) Iprefer th colr version because I saw her right away, but tomorrow (in a different mood) I will probably prefer the mono version because I *didn't* see her right away!
@louuncouth Well aren't you a moody one;-). I am, too. The color just had to be shown to me in this...so vibrant and cool with the reflections on the windows. But the masses don't agree with me today. So it goes...
@newbank Love your words. I know so little about the technical aspect of photography. I just do what looks best and works for me. And in this quick snap, I was pretty pleased with how it came out...comp and all that. So glad I got the stop bit in there. Thanks, lady!!
@amandal Neither do I. I often find the less I think the better I do! Trying to learn bits. But honestly sometimes I look at what supposedly is brilliant technicially etc and it just has something missing for me. Perhaps that's a dreadful thing to say!
i love this version. the other one seems flat to me. this here, with the little branch of leaves peeking through and the stop sign, then Clara's i love you gesture, it gives me the feeling i am actually there seeing it. mind you in both versions, i saw her right away and without looking of course i knew pronto it's clara!
