Displaced and Trying to Hold it all Together

Ever feel this way? I do, not regularly, but there are times.

This is a puzzle of The Empire State building that we got my kids for Christmas. Their first 3D puzzle. It was between this and the Eiffel Tower. This was more personal to us in that Mike is from NY and I was there and photoing this building a couple summers ago.

I was challenged to do the 5 days of b&w again on Facebook. I suppose I'll give it another go. Winter is a better time for it with the bleak. Anyone want to join me?
where's the monkey? he must've seen the trees and gone to the forest. nice!

I remember Sam building on eof these very painstakingly 3 or 4 years ago. I think he's still got it, and Ben has (is!) Big Ben!

@summerfield I so thought of that...wish I had a King Kong toy. Hmmm, we may.

Wow - that's a lot of puzzle-putting-together! Well done to the team that constructed that! And the capture with the background is so very awesome. If I can find the time (company on their way this weekend) I'd love to join the Facebook B&W this week.

That looks like hard work!

I did one of these a long time ago, I don't even remember what building it was. They are fun though. I like this shot! B&W was an excellent choice. I will join the B&W for a week challenge, starting today! ;-)

I loved putting these together! I had a couple cool noes, was so neat seeing it come together in 3D. Love the tree background, still gives the puzzle a pretty grand scale. I may join you in the b&w challenge too!

The Eiffel Tower puzzle takes forever to do. You made a good choice. :^)

3D's puzzles are just such fun and so rewarding. Looks like the kids did a great job with this one too.
January 13th, 2015
Great b&w shot...neat puzzle and end result
January 13th, 2015
Super b/w capture

Never heard of a 3D puzzle - all mine are jigsaws and not 3D thats for sure! Good thing you don't have a child as I did that would knock things down the moment things were built!

wonderfully done.. 3D puzzles are quite amazing
January 13th, 2015
Great shot, looks. Eth good against the backdrop!

We have some of those! Love them. Our cardboard puzzle of the white house, wouldn't stay together, so we threw it away before we moved. My daughter loves the plastic 3-D puzzles because they have some Disney themed ones.
January 13th, 2015
Very cool contrasts. Looks a very tricky puzzle!
January 13th, 2015
That's a fabulous puzzle! And shot.
January 13th, 2015

January 13th, 2015
Fantastic shot of that completed puzzle
January 14th, 2015
Great shot against the background, Amanda. I have not seen a 3D puzzle before all put together. Came out great. I bet this took time and patience.
January 14th, 2015
Very cool! And you know me... Anytime is good for black and white :)
January 14th, 2015
yikes, this looks like a hard puzzle! great shot of it.
January 14th, 2015
Looks like fun! I've never tried a 3D before. We started a puzzle at Christmas but we were quitters.
January 14th, 2015
@wannabe Sometimes you need to quite. We got one once that seemed to be missing pieces.
January 14th, 2015
@wannabe Or quit:).
January 14th, 2015
Wow...waaaaay cool!
January 14th, 2015

Don't want to join you, but thank you!! I did it once!! I'm not good at it and much prefer color. I so love looking at everyone else's B/W and they always look so good. I do it and they just look bad to me! I do like this photo and would love to do a 3D puzzle, but have 3 puppies that would love to knock it down and hide the pieces!!! The building looks real and tall until you see the tree limbs behind it! LOL FAV!!!!
January 14th, 2015
Never done a 3-D puzzle either. Super image.
January 14th, 2015
Hang in there Amanda, spring is just around the corner. Puzzles are such a fun thing to do as a family.
January 14th, 2015
How interesting! Must have been fun putting this together.
January 14th, 2015
My favorite building! Nice challenge shot. I did the fb challenge in November - it is a fun thing to do!
January 14th, 2015
@soboy5 I've been called out to do it 3 times, I think. This is my second time (did it back in fall, too). I didn't want to do it in fall because it was such an amazingly colorful time of year. I always dread doing it, but like it when I do. I do like b&w, but don't like any rules to my photos. I love the Empire State building, too!!!
January 14th, 2015
great b&w capture. I've never heard of a 3D puzzle, so cool.
January 14th, 2015
@bill_fe Thanks for the fav on the Clara shot. There is a globe one and an Eiffel Tower one. They are so cool!
