This is in honor of my brunch date today...with a pilot. I had to tell Mike. We're having brunch with a pilot tomorrow.
Oh? He asked, curious. (Gotta keep them on their toes:).
One of my very favorite cousins, Landis, is a commercial airline pilot. He and I are a year a apart in age. We are the closest in age of my cousins and have always gotten along great. We once got lost in Disney World together. Oh the memories! He lives in CA and I haven't seen him for a few years. Today he's in town and flying out with time to meet for a meal.
I love that Landis put himself through flight school because he loved to fly. We were just kids. And I love that he accomplished his dream and flies jets for a living now.
It would be so amazingly cool to board a plane someday and have Landis at the wheel. Do planes have wheels?
Wonderful symmetry, although these close formations make me feel nervous... I don't know how the pilots can fly so close to each other! Lovely shot - enjoy time with your cousin. :)
@photographycrazy It was kinda terrifying...we had to go ask an employee for help and were taken behind the scenes. It seems like we were waiting for hours for his mom to come and find us.
Nice framing, I like the fact that you have left space to the right, giving them somewhere to go. It would be cool to be in one of those kinds of planes and get an inside perspective.
It has wheels to take off and land on!!! Snort!!! It's called a Yoke!!! I only know this because my husband used to be an aircraft mechanic!!! LOL

Of course they have wheels, Amanda! They go round and round inside and make the plane go faster! Good to hear about Landis - sounds like my son - put himself through training and registration - loves to fly!
Cool capture of the planes zooming along! Great that you were able to catch up too. The son of a friend is half-way through his commercial pilot degree at the moment - it will be amazing if we ever get on a plane flown by him, so I know what you mean!

Very cool shot, and great story!! And, yes, I believe planes have wheels, which they pull up into the body before they fly.....sort of like a turtle!! ;-)))
