I am feeling so troubled and unsettled and heartbroken about what happened in my hometown over the weekend. In the place where I grew up and lived for 25 years of my life, the idyllic peace was shattered with an act of terror, hate, violence and cowardice.
Here Orlando contains the "happiest place on earth" and now it is filled with mourning and fear.
My heart goes out to the people hurting and scared, those who have lost loved ones and friends. Thankfully, my friends and loved ones seem to be all ok.
So glad that I have solid ground to cling to, to stand firm in. So greatful that I have a God that I trust and who is my rock. I can have faith and not live in fear of the unknown.
And should I ever find myself in a situation like at Pulse, I hope and pray I can hold on tight to my Savior.
Beautiful photo and share and perfect title. Fav. And it seems that Jesus is our bridge over troubled water. And I was so moved when I heard a snippet from the Lin-Manuel Miranda's Tony-Award winning acceptance speech when he shared a sonnet he wrote: "And love is love is love is love is love is love is love is love cannot be killed or swept aside."
There are sadly a lot of troubled waters in the world at the moment. What a tragic state of affairs in Orlando. It leaves me without words. Beautiful homage to the people of your hometown. xx
Such a perfect photo and song Amanda. I cannot imagine how the friends and family feel losing their loved ones or by the bedside of some. What an animal that would do such a thing. Glad your friends are safe. Sending hugs! FAV
What a wonderful picture - and your words are such a tribute to the senseless terror of two days ago. We must find a way to bring acceptance of all God's people back to the front of our lives - so sorry to hear this was even closer to you. Prayers for you, your friends, and our country.
