Stay the Hell Out of our Enclosure!!

Friends of Harambe, give threatening looks to zoo visitors.

A little more than a year ago, a child climbed over the fence and fell into the gorilla enclosure at our local zoo. The zookeepers had to put the gorilla down in order to save the child's life. It was a very sad and unfortunate tragedy and I was thankful that the child was not harmed...he could have easily been killed.

This was my first visit to the newly opened gorilla area (it has been closed since then while they made adjustments to secure the area better).

It was a hot day and these fellas were hanging out in the shade, but I had a peek.

I liked the serious, challenging expressions.

I seriously love the gorillas.

Excellent candid capture, Amanda. I remember that incident with the zoo and it was a sad story but good that the little kid was not harmed.

You have the perfect view. Your story is very sad/disturbing. I think I remember it being on the news. Gorillas are such magnificent animals. We were lucky enough to see them in Uganda, and its one of my life highlights.

Wonderful expression - I wonder if the gorilla is a cross as it looks.

Poor things... they must be bored out of their mind.

Oh my goodness! Expressions you have captured on their faces today makes it hard to believe that they are not human. Absolutely amazing image.

I think you've titled it perfectly. It's quite a strong portrait.

He certainly has a threatening appearance. Shouldn't need a warning sign. One look is enough 8-)

He looks so like someone I used to work with!

I hope the gorillas are happy in their revamped enclosure, although this one looks pretty frightening and your title says it all!

Wow, they are very serious looking. I hope they like their new home. I remember the controversy around that sad event.
