Last year we had a very fat squirrel, which we named Tubby, with hindsight, we think that it was a female who was pregnant rather than fat. This morning the squirrels were playing in the garden and chasing each other up the Cherry tree and we again appear to have a ‘fat’ squirrel. Whether this is the same squirrel as last year, I cannot say as we often have five or six squirrels in the garden at the same time. I have now refilled the bird feeders and the squirrel box and as I am running out of peanuts, I think a trip to Scotsdales Garden Centre might be appropriate.
It is still mild for January although it was much colder than it has been over Christmas and New Year as there was frost on the ground.
