I was due for my yearly eye exam and this time I didn't get away without a new prescription. so Hans and I drove to Newmarket and went to the mall there. first we tried a few other places and got some pricing in though. so when we arrived at the mall we knew right away where to go. ' Lens Crafters' right next to our optometrist's office. we were in luck... they had a sale on. some of last year's frames where 50% reduced and after trying on so many different frames I finally went over to the sales items and wouldn't you know I found exactly what I was looking for. it gets better still...the lenses were also 50% reduced...and to top it all off..the new eye glasses where done in an hour and a half..so we had an early dinner in the mall, picked up the frames and headed home. here you see me with an attachment on top of the new frames. everything else was then done by computer.
Wow!! Hope i have that luck - my current specs are so scratched and replacement here will be about $450, without frames!! We are going to SE Asia in Feb so will try there
Great portrait, Bruni! I love the fact that glasses are done while you wait! I had to get new ones last year (finally) and I loved my old frames and they didn't show anywhere on the display shelves. I was told they were out of the frames. All they had were half frames or teeny frames and I can't stand those. Then the lady says "Wait!" and runs off. She comes back with the exact frames of my old ones! That was awesome! She said she had a secret stash. I lucked out that I didn't get new frames that would probably look really dorky on me! I hope your new prescription doesn't make the ground jump out to meet you like mine did. I was afraid to walk for a few days because every time I looked down, I thought I was going to fall! Anyway... I'm sorry about being chatty! This is about YOU and YOUR PIC! Nice pic! Congrats on such a great deal! It's hard to find glasses nowadays with prices so jacked up! Well done!! @prttblues No need to apologize..we all need time off once in awhile. I spent from 5 am until 4.30 pm on the couch. woke up a bit dizzy and after my breakfast got very naucious..the rest is history..now I'm trying to keep some water down. later I'll try a cup of camomile tee and a slice of dry white bread. talking of luck..you were lucky that the lady stashed some frames away and I was lucky to find the right frame for me..when my daughter came visiting and I must say she is very picky and hardly ever gives you a compliment, before she saw me with my new glasses on she saw the box on my kitchen countert and said Versage eh..my response from the other room was how do you know you haven't seen me yet and walked towards her. well she likes them.
