Broken? Maybe not! by calm

Broken? Maybe not!

This little cedar waxwing flew into our storm door and has been injured. It looks like its legs are broken. I don't know what to do for it. UPDATE: He finally flew and landed in a pin oak tree! Yay!!!
Dan
More than likely it's legs are fine. This used to happen alot at my old house. I think it's just stunned and needs to collect it's bearings. I've always seen them get better and finally take off again. It's gotta hurt stubbing your beak into a window, wow!
Nice markings on these!

I agree with @drfleury14 if he can recover in peace he may just clear his head and fly off with a headache! However a beautiful chance to see these lovely birds close up.

@drfleury14 @Cherrill I am hoping so, too. But he has been there more than an hour, and doesn't move much when I go out the door. But I will remain hopeful.

A lovely little bird, pleased he seemed to be OK

It was probably just dazed and its legs weren't responding. Normally when they hit a window it's with its head or upper body!

Such a beautiful bird; his feathers look as if he'd feel like silk to touch. Happy to read he was able to fly away.
