This evening was the first session of the LLM course, at St Andrews, Droitwich.
We began with a Eucharist service.
I was particularly struck by the picture on the altar cloth symolising a journey which leads to and beyond the cross. During the talk we were reminded that we were called to strip away our layers of self importance, to be the person God knows us to be. We were also reminded of the importance of dealing gently with others when encountering their layers of protection.
To help us gel as a group of year we then had the name of a Biblical character stuck on our backs and had to find out who we were by asking questions.
Am I am man -Yes
Am I in the Old Testament - No
Am I a disciple - Yes
Am I one of the 'Sons of Thunder' erm No...
Did I betray Jesus? Yes
Am I Peter? Yes!
A good evening! We all chatted a great deal.
Next week, however, the real work begins!
