Powick on Sea by daffodill

Powick on Sea

A new inland sea, with waves.
A dirty brown tide,
covering the floodplains of Worcestershire,
spreading further than I have seen them before.
Powick church stand firm,
surveying the changing landscape.
The sunshine is a welcome change from the winter's leaden skies,
but the evening will bring further rain,
which will bring more flooding and misery
and we are left wondering if there will be a point at which
the floods of Somerset join with the floods of Worcestershire,
and if the cliffs of Devon will be eroded by the Severn,
and if it does who will we blame?
For someone must be held accountable
for mankind's careless destruction of the earth!
Oh my goodness hope the flooding does not do too much damage, when we were living in Powick I used to teach Sunday school at the church

@snowy The water seems close to some properties, but appears contained within the floodplain, which always seems to spread further each year. I am not sure if the floods are bigger than in the past, or if we just get a better view from the bridge...
I assume you saw floods when you living in Powick.
