In 1953 Ford of Britain updated their pre-war designed Ford Anglia and Prefect range with this more modern looking car. It still featured an 1172cc side valve (flat head) engine but now with adjustable tappets. The 3 speed gearbox and vacuum wipers were retained from the previous model.
