There are lots of definitions/descriptions of abstract photography. One of my favorites comes from The Digital Photography School website: Abstract photography focuses on the beauty of shapes, colors, patterns, and textures. Unlike most other forms of photography, it doesn’t aim to represent reality in a literal sense; instead, creating abstract photos is all about playing with visual elements to create images that might not be immediately recognizable.
