I'm Thankful for.... Trevor Now Going to His Dad's School

Today I had to return to work (inservice--no students) and during lunch I took Trevor to his new high school to enroll. He will now be attending the school (as a Junior) where his dad is an assistant principal and where his sister,Addie,is a Freshman. This picture was taken as we all walked through Trevor's schedule so he will at least be a little familiar with where his classes are tomorrow. Trevor and his dad are in the picture. The new school (AHS) will be a BIG change for him---he is used to going to a school where he knows everyone and there are only about 80 students in the graduating class. AHS has at least 700!! Luckily, he already knows some kids from when he was younger so hopefully this will help make the adjustment easier.

Today I'm thankful for....

1. Trevor attending AHS with his dad and sister.
2. Seeing all my friends at work after the Christmas Break
3. Addie scored 7 points during her game!!
4. It now only takes me one minute to get to work--before we moved it took me 45!! :)
5. an inservice/guest speaker that kept my attention the entire time--very rare for teacher inservices!! :)
Sounds like a pretty good day.

@sarasdadandmom he's very excited--it's one of the main reasons why we moved (so he could go to his dad's school)--of course he's nervous about tomorrow--more nervous about basketball practice than his classes though!! :)

Good luck to him starting a new school! I moved from primary school (100 children) to high school (240 children per year group, 5 year groups, not including sixth form) 5 years ago and then this last September moved up from lower school (240 per year) to sixth form (over 1500 per year)! Massive changes, not easy! I hope he settles in okay :)
