I Am Thankful For.....Trevor Learning To Be Independent

Since Trevor is a Senior this year and will be on his own soon, we have decided that he will cook dinner every Sunday night. We are going to show him how to make a few meals that he can make himself later. Maybe if he learns how to cook a few things, he won't starve or only eat fast food for dinner next year!! :) Tonight was the very first time he has cooked dinner so we started off with a Hamburger Helper Meal--it's inexpensive, easy to make, and some are pretty tasty!! :) He did a good job (dinner was yummy!!) and he even let me take a picture!! :)

Today I'm thankful for....

1. the pastor had the teachers and other school employees stand up and everyone prayed for us for the upcoming year
2. Trevor cooked a terrific dinner :)
3. Addie is staying here tonight and it's so nice having her here the night before school starts
Awesome!!

Great picture. And, if need be, you'll have it as proof for his wife someday that at least you did try. :) Don't forget the laundry!

Schools here teach a course for the last two years of a student's education; i't called "Survival Cookery"! And the Mothers' Union give a great cookery book to all new university students. They are recipes that have been tried and tested by good home cooks over many years.
Great picture of Trevor.

I think it's a great idea that they learn how to do some basic cooking. That fast food stuff will kill you for sure.

Amy
We did the same thing with Peanut last year! She also learned how to do her laundry and manage money with a budget. Fingers crossed, it all stuck because she off to college now!
