Day 141---Today was Senior Sunday at church. A slideshow was presented that included pictures from when each graduate was a baby and also several embarrasing photos that moms and dads have saved all these years just for this moment!!! :) Then the Seniors stood up, along with their parents, and the congregation prayed for them. It was an emotional moment for me, but I was strong and didn't cry. I have so many mixed emotions--happiness, anxiety, worry, and excitement---but I think most of all I feel pride. I'm extremely proud of Trevor. Even though he has his teenage moments, he is such a good kid. I'm going to really miss him next year. After church, the girls went with some other youth to help at the nursing home while Eddie and I took Trevor out for lunch. I snapped a couple of shots of him while he was talking to Eddie.
Today I'm thankful for.....
1. a sermon that truly inspired me---our pastor's best friend is in town for chemo and he preached today about living life with urgency--he gave a very moving message
2. prayers spoken for my son
3. tomorrow is our last Monday of the school year
4. finished creating my semester exam
It's going to be a good change, though it is going to be filled with many worries as you wonder what is happening in his life during his time away. Oh my, being a parent is a challenge.
You may not have cried but I'm over here with a wet face - just so sweet. I remember when Peanut & I were going through this last year and I still cry over her - it's hard having your heart wandering around the outside of your body.
