Esercito Ristorante Navona

During my stroll with the Mamyia 645 I went to Piazza Navona, where these stands stood, rather incongruous...
If my 6x4.5 gets me results as good as those you have shown so far I'll be very happy.

Great candid shot

What a contrast, I don't think that I can feel the ease and enjoy coffee here.

Neat b&w candid shot

@yrhenwr too kind of you! I bet you’ll have fun.
@bkbinthecity thank you a lot!
@yaorenliu they are at every corner of the most crowded places, anti-terrorism prevention. Agree with you on the uneasiness...
@seattlite thank you very much!

Interesting contrast between the two sides of this image. Coffee on one side, guns on the other. I'm very uncomfortable with guns in places like this.

Love this shot

Nice capture of the contrast. A sad statement on the current atmosphere.

Those guns make me uneasy! Nice candid!

@golftragic thank you ! Agreed. But after Nice and London who wants a truck running on the crowd in the very center of Rome?
@jclaireyp thank you!
@amyk in fact... thanks!
@kwind they do! Thank you

@domenicododaro I do understand. Melbourne has also had a loony-tunes drive down one of the busiest main city malls mowing people down, killing six (including a baby in a pram) and injuring 28. But we don't really do guns here in Oz, we put up cement-block bollards instead.

@domenicododaro The bollards were swiftly yarn-bombed or covered in street artwork!!

I would feel uncomfortable eating here - sad state of the world
November 9th, 2018
@golftragic @fbailey So sad. I do feel uncomfortable in this state of the World. And still, We are lucky not to have been born 50 or more years before...
November 9th, 2018
@domenicododaro Absolutely right Domenico. I was, in fact born nearly 77 years ago, smack-bang in the middle of World War 2, on the day the Japanese invaded Singapore. I met so many mentally and/or physically damaged young men when I was growing up. My Dad was one of only three survivors in his RAAF group (or whatever) intake to make it through until the end. Terrible times indeed. And tomorrow marks 100 years since the Armistice that ended fighting in WW1. Why does mankind never learn that wars rarely achieve anything positive?
November 10th, 2018
@golftragic In fact. And think about turning the clock's hands backwards further 50 years... All possible conflicts. And dying of a flu. And no dental care... and so on. Maybe we have just been spoilt by the longest peacetime in history.

Great candid shot

I'd imagine that I'd get soooo bored....

Most certainly incongruous. That is how it is on every street corner in Israel. I'm not sure I would ever get used to it.
November 10th, 2018
A sad change in the world. There have been 307 mass shooting in the US in 311 days...so depressing but it doesn't look like this here...yet.

I had to look up 'esercito' so I might understand better. We have army recruiting offices in odd places too, next to dry cleaning stores and the such. I hope I never become comfortable with the presence of guns in public places.

@bkbinthecity @blueberry1222 @helenhall @joysabin Thank you for your comments. It's a curious feel. Uncomfortable, for sure.
