Went to the park by the Hudson River in my town today. Not many people were out because it was hot and humid and a few ominous-looking clouds were looming overhead. I sat on the docks for a few shots. The cool breeze coming off the water was a nice respite from the heat. Got down on the ground for this one as the rain started to fall.
...
You know that kind of rain? Summer rain...the kind that seems to fall one drop every other minute or so before it becomes a steady pour. Big wet drops that feel nice against hot sweaty skin? Yeah, it was that kind of rain.
See? My lens had rain on it. Wish I had noticed and wiped it off.
But then shortly after this, it started to downpour. I covered my camera and walked - did not run - back to the car, rain coming down on me and all. Hair wet. Tank top soaked.
Love the perspective. Glad you explained how you got it otherwise I would have worried that you simply melted in the heat. Either that or had two beers too fast.
Great job on capturing this perspective. The gritty texture of the wood is super. We had no rain on L.I. today. Just as I was admiring your post and reading your...er, a...detailed description, a clap of thunder sounded. That summer storm found it's way down here after all.
Perfect combination of elements...the water drops on the lens, the ground level POV, the darkened edges, and the bright white piece of sky all create such a nice feel.

@timerskine even if I had had two beers two fast the picture wouldn't be so bad lol. I'm not TOO much of a lightweight. Thanks for the comment!
@baznman I loved watching the clouds come in and then roll away. Didn't catch any cool lightning though ;)
Sometimes.
