Day 317. At the risk of sounding cliché, where did the time go? Less than 50 days left in 2013. I've said a few times before...this taking a pic a day thing isn't really new for me. I attempted 365 photos a day - once in 2009 and another time in 2010. I posted both attempts on Flickr when I had no "audience" and I was doing it only for me.
I'm still doing this only for me but this experience here has been an interesting one and I'm glad I've been a part of it. I chose my username "fauxtography365" purposefully. I'm a picture taker, really. Sometimes my pics are good, maybe even really good. I know how to shoot in manual and I have a very basic working knowledge of f-stops and and all that jazz. But, truth be told, when I'm feeling lazy I put that shit in auto and just snap away. Haters gonna hate.
And I'll keep snapping away even long after these 365 days. I've been at this hobby for about 5 years now but I picked up most of my photography knowledge back in high school, when I was editor of my yearbook and I had to sometimes fill in for the yearbook photog. I had a film SLR camera then and had to shoot in manual all the time.
But I digress...Just because I've taken literally thousands of pictures over the years and even have had a friend or two offer me some money to take pics for them for various things -- a photographer it makes me not. Hence the name "fauxtography365". Still, I kinda wish I hadn't chosen that name lol. But so it goes...
ANYWAY.
Happy Hump Day, people!
P.S. Spotted this tree on the way home to catch my train. Thought it was pretty...
I have had a camera for as long as I can remember...I have even made a living at it once upon a time..I still feel like a fauxtographer, i love the name and wish I had thought of it. iphone pics are a lot of fun love the orange sky!
Love the capture of that tree and share your enjoyment of taking snap shots. I don't take a lot of time over each shot, point and hope it looks OK, if not - too bad it is only electrons. I do try to improve my knowledge of my camera and try for shots that are a bit special. Not much I can do with a sunrise 8-)
You should give yourself more credit for your abilities as a photographer, they are proven by the photos you have put up. I like your style! This is a great shot!
@sunshinephoto5 thanks, Dawn. I like iphoneography too although some might think less of it. A camera is a camera. The person behind it makes more of a difference in most cases.
Nice. I have been hanging lights at work lately.
I still think of myself as a "picture taker" rather than a photographer. Just seeing the skills of others here is a very humbling experience. It does give me incentive though!

@jean_willis thanks, Jean!
@thirdjoe thank you, Joseph. I think I have a good eye but wouldn't call myself a photographer. I'm happy being a picture taker :)
@tonydebont thanks, tony. Love your sunrise shots. I like learning more and improving when I can. But it's not a priority for me as this is a hobby.
