Bovril Ghost Sign by fishers

Bovril Ghost Sign

Dad (Ian) featured a ghost sign twice before on his solo project, with a Bile Beans advert in York ( http://365project.org/if1/365/2012-10-17) and its subsequent repainting ( http://365project.org/if1/365/2012-11-07).

This one, for Bovril, I found in Brixton, in Windrush Square (a newly landscaped public square which opened in 2010). Bovril, for those unfamiliar with it, is a thick, salty meat extract created in the 1870s.

If you look closely, there's the outline of another advert below. This was an advert for Butlins Holiday camps, but it's now so faded you can hardly make it out. It'd be nice if they decided to repaint these ones, or maybe history should eventually fade away. What do you think? - Lucy
A super capture of the old advertisement.

Great find and capture of this nice wall. I think : nothing last for ever . Just save what`s worth saving.

A neat shot and taken from a nice angle to just give us a hint of the front too.

I'd love it if they could paint it to look vintage, like the top one. But that's probably either an art or historical society faux pas. Great photo!
