Watton Clock Tower by gillian1912

Watton Clock Tower

This clock tower stands in the High Street of my local town. It was built in 1679 to hold a fire warning bell following the "Great Fire of Watton" which had destroyed many properties in the town in 1674.

In front of the clock tower stands the town sign which you can't see very well as it is sideways on. A subject for another day!
I love East Anglia's town signs!!! Thought every town had them before I moved south
