Another shot from our excursion into the wilds yesterday - this was at the side of the "road" but I can vividly imagine the boys cruising the "street" of Puhe, Uriti and Okoki in this, the latest invention to hit these parts in an all out push by the big horseless carriage manufacturers of the day to bring some form of civilisation to these parts.
The beats would be pumping from the wireless, windows down, arms slung nonchalantly across the sills as they cruise slowly down the highways and bi-ways looking for tonights date. The echo of shotguns through the hills and valleys as they find success...
I am a confirmed and certifiable nutbar with a penchant for skulls, bones, blood, guts, fire and anything slightly peculiar and mostly bizarre. I also...
And the number plate is almost 'GUN'! Luckily the horse and sheep are still alive, though you never know how long. Great find and shot. Really like it in black and white, makes it more spooky.
@northy Thanks very much - those particular animals were the only ones that hadn't been shot yet... @overalvandaan Thanks very much - I hadn't even noticed the number plate (I think I was too busy running for my life!)
@northy They're probably gone by now - we were being watched when we took shots of this, so they probably vented their frustration after we made our getaway.
@bigugly Thanks very much - there's a big sink hole in the ground about 4 feet in front of this...I think it's slowly losing the battle to stay above ground @gigiflower They'd been there so long I think the smell was but a memory
Fantastic b&w, works well with this beat up truck. BTW, "redneckery" is already a commonly used verb in our household because of you. Perfect. Glad you survived your outing!
Cool shot... but this baby is only cruising if you park her at the top of the car lot, uphill, so she can roll down. Your clarity and details are excellent.
@kt8ird LOL, so to inflict my grammatical fabrications on your household but on the other hand, thank you very much indeed :) @rosiekerr Thanks very much indeed...and I think you may just be right there...
Have you every tried to sling your arm nonchalantly across the window sill of your car? It is really uncomfortable! Nice, grungy shot. I too like the animals in the background.
You paint a fascinating picture.......the guys are in town, get your glad rags on girls!! Old & worn out now just like the truck!
Tyres quite good surprisingly!
@creativefool Thanks very much indeed :) @lorrainelouise Thanks very much...I'm still walking properly... @annied All of the above I reckon...probably came out for a drive from the city 15 years ago...and thank you kind lady type person. @taffy Thank you very much :) @voiceprintz Yep, I think it's seen it's share of the action @happypat The tyres surprised me as well, and thank you :) @cathrinemitch Thanks so much, appreciated :) @hermann Thank you very much indeed :) @golftragic Thanks...nothing quite like a grotty truck @eyeamlisa Thanks very much - I've never been a master if the nonchalant. I end up looking creepily uncoordinated... @888rachel Thanks very much...appreciated :) @kt8ird Oh I think it's alive and kicking everywhere...
@wearing0 Thanks very much :) @jaynspain Thanks very much - the dead boars were about 50 metres down the road... @kali66 Yes, I could have, but I saw what was on the seat... @shannejw Thanks very much :) @redpants I think it's definitely seen some action... @tabarlett Thanks very much indeed :) @vignouse Thanks, it was a good day out and more than pleasant to not be taking photos of myself! @chippy1402 Just a touch - my wife would say "you're not bring that thing in here" . With a few expletives thrown in for good measure. @yrhenwr I use the term loosely...but having seen the rest if this back country area, anything is an improvement. There's not many places left where it's acceptable to ride your cousin to work in the morning and where you can have a divorce and still be brother and sister...
@newbank Oh I know...I struggle sometimes with that as well. It's all their fault - personally I'm well balanced, polite and completely sane at all times...but @annied and @gigflower are completely insane. I quite like it :)
@graemestevens@newbank@gigiflower oh Graeme as if you would be satisfied with being normal - hahahaha - who are you trying to kid
and eccentric suits me just fine thank you lol
@annied@newbank@gigiflower I'm more normal than you think - If you want to see how normal, head on over to todays shot and have a read. That should confirm just how normal I am. :))
@newbank@annied@graemestevens Ummmmm helloooooo I am INSANE?????? Oh Ms Newbank Lass.........I think you have spent far too much time at Train Fairs this weekend. Comparing the word "insane" between my lovely self and Mr S...........Oh my goodness we are worlds apart!!! Thanks you Ms Annie for confirming Ms NewBanks NON normality ;)
@newbank@gigiflower oops, I may have been mentally AWOL for a while there. No surprise there, but please rest assured that you have in no way upset me or anyone else I know of. I do apologise most sincerely. I wonder who @newcastle is? I shall investigate.
@graemestevens@gigiflower has been v quiet today I must tell mrs Newcastle off for upsetting her....perhaps if post something flowery and colourful she will feel better?
@overalvandaan Thanks very much - I hadn't even noticed the number plate (I think I was too busy running for my life!)
@bill_fe Isn't it though - they'd be the envy of all!
