Right then. Firstly, apologies for the gratuitous use of colour. Secondly, I don't care. Every year New Plymouth hosts The Festival of Lights at Pukekura Park. As well as light displays for 2 months through out the park there are free movies, concerts and general assorted "happenings". In general terms, merriment ensues.
This particular display pulsates in time to a quite fabulous collection of 80's music, including but not limited to, Bronski Beat's "Smalltown Boy", Human League's "Don't You Want Me Baby" and (of course) Soft Cell with Tainted Love. I almost busted a move.
In other news, a slightly different and more sinister view of this display can be found here:
I am a confirmed and certifiable nutbar with a penchant for skulls, bones, blood, guts, fire and anything slightly peculiar and mostly bizarre. I also...
Sounds like a fun event. It's funny growing up in the 80's I hated that type of music I was more into heavy metal! Now as I grow older they sound quite good...
@ezzzmaay it's okay...I suppose ;) @rjb71 I was more of a Killing Joke and Fields of the Nephilim type of guy but that pop "lightness" eventually finds it's way in and starts to twist everything...bah! Bring back the misery!
@hrs Agreed...without the people it would just be a lighting store ;) @joysabin We live in hope. I welcome our new bulb shaped over lords... @golftragic Thank goodness for that...as usual, it would have been better without the people ;) @alinz I did...in my head... @jgpittenger Thank you very much :) @juliedduncan It's probably never going to happen... @spectrum You're most welcome and thank you :) @northy It still is an anthem for me...having said that, I have several situational theme tunes... @joansmor It is...and it's all free...
@tonygig Thanks very much :) @jamibann Thanks very much :) @humphreyhippo There was a slight twitch in the nether regions, reminiscent of a well timed pirouette across the discotheque @littleconnie I have been called many things but you're right, never that...
