Having not even glanced at my camera for 2 weeks I thought I should probably get of my ageing arse and do something about that.

Every two years New Plymouth hosts a "Rock Carvers Symposium" on the fore shore, where sculptors - both national and international - make noise and dust for 4 weeks prior to their amazing sculptures being auctioned to the rich and well to do of the region.

We went to have a look yesterday as they've only been at it for a week thus far and it's always interesting to check from time to time and see how things have changed.
Awesome processing - I look forward to seeing some of the finished art....oh, and while I was here, I took a look at joy to the world...can hardly wait for the nightmares to kick it...

must be fascinating to follow the progress of these works of art. Is this the one you have got your eye on ? It seems to be shaping up well. Great procerssing style for the subject.
