At one time the Babe's chain of muffler shops were quite plentiful and the large square jawed statues were common. Not too many still are outside of the muffler shops. Many of the statues have found work roadside advertising a great many other products, like golf clubs and restaurants. The local gentleman still hawks the muffler, although he had been known to hold a hockey stick as he is located down the street from the arena where the San Jose Sharks play.
