Memorial Day is when America honors and remembers those who fought and died to preserve our freedoms. Sunday afternoon, I went to the Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery just outside Ft. Bragg, NC. Some of the flowers left by family members were very moving.
@joansmor I loved the Revolutionary War memorial stuff when we were in NH. @digitalrn While I was saddened by the lack of grass in the cemetery (It was not a pretty cemetery - guess we aren't the only ones having issue with growing grass here), there was hardly a headstone without a bunch of flowers and many were covered with flowers. It was heartwarming.
