My husband's top noncommissioned officer (NCO) in his office had his farewell lunch today. He's the guy who keeps my hubby out of trouble, his filter. So, we made him this special award which is two oil filters (gold colored) with a toy eagle on top. The plaque says "The Colonel's Golden Filter Award, Thanks from COL Dave Poland." My hubby is the big idea man. He told me what he wanted to do and ordered the plaque. I came up with the actual award. Today, when he presented it, MSG Johnson said he'd definitely make a space on his desk at his next assignment for this award. His replacement has already been warned that she will have big shoes to fill.
