One last trip to Dodger Stadium with my baseball obsessed daughter to catch the boys in blue in their recordbreaking season. Tonight was nickname night (against the Brewers) and all the players wore special jerseys which were definitely not Dodger blue with their nicknames on the back (to be auctioned off later for charity).
Despite their awesome record the team has struggled with pitching injuries (Kershaw sent down for rehab, Wood on the DL, Darvish just back from DL) so they trotted out the second stringers -- here is Ross Stripling (aka "Chicken Strip") in his windup. Normally, slated for long relief, he pitched three respectable innings, but, alas, the bats weren't there and the Dodgers lost a rare one 3-1.
