Mixer 15

The OLD and the new. This Sunbeam Mixmaster was my moms. I don’t know how old it is, but would guess from the 1960’s. My parents were 18 and 19 when they were married in 1956 so I highly doubt they could afford such a fancy piece of kitchen equipment at that time. This mixer is in our kitchen on top of one of the cabinets and it reminds me of my mom preparing cake mixes way back when. I have the 2 glass bowls that it came with also. I will post a photo with the mixing bowl in my other album.

My mom had one like this, too! It was probably in the late 40's and she was making a cake. I wondered if I could stop those beaters by sticking my finger in them. It did - she had to call a neighbor to get it out, I had stitches and still have the scar. Taught me not to do "I wonder if's" any more!

A good comparison.

Friends! Great vintage machine! I think I only have a teapot of my moms from when they were engaged. Mom is not a saver.

Oh no!
I was always sticking the spatula in too close to the beaters when I was a kid.
