It could be in the Arabian Desert too. Beautiful.

Awesome smoothness

That's it! I've had enough! Your images are just too fabulous! Keep this up and Austria will be overcrowded with 365 photographers!

Absolutely stunning. Gorgeous curves of light and dark.
February 10th, 2017
Great shape and composition- thought it was cream when I first looked!
February 10th, 2017
I think it is time I returned to beautiful Austria!!
February 10th, 2017
You're quite the adventurer Jerome... and with this sort of view as a reward, I can see why?
February 10th, 2017
very beautiful light and shadow

Really loving your winter scenes, beautiful, again 😊

another great image. fav

This shot really illustrates a skill you have Jerome - creating intriguing ambiguity. The texture of this image could indicate snow, sand, smooth rock, cream, ice cream, cream cheese, butter, cement, modelling clay, marble or even dough. You always take the most artistic of approaches to your work.

Such strong lines, distinct in their dark and light.

Thank you all for your so nice comments!

I think the simple form has a strong cogency. I'm trying to figure out what it could be. Something general in particular.

An adventurer... a nice label :).
Adventure - an exciting, perhaps risky event. Immediate sensory perception in nature. See what the light is doing. Line, shape, space, light-dark, colour... a wondrous world. Maybe it is an adventure to hike there.
Looking for a meaning in this world. Ask questions. Perhaps this is an adventure - a very risky one.

@dide Thank you very much for your words! I receive them as a friendly comment. :)
But they also make me thoughtful. I draw with my pictures a country in which there are only beauties. But it is not so. I also see problems - developments in society, in self-understanding, in behavior to another. And I see the destruction of landscapes, even in the mountains. Where a mountain becomes an amusement park - to attract as many people as possible for a short-term and superficial pleasure. It's about profit and money. It is destroying why people actually come: the beauty of the landscape and the dignity of the mountains. But they still exist: the almost untouched, secluded places. They are not so easy to reach with ski lifts and cable cars. And so it should remain.

@chillen Many thanks for your kind words!
Art... a big word for me. It makes me small. I'm trying to figure out what it could be. Something general that always comes alive in a very special. A wide range. The many in one... But there are always question marks. Is there an arriving?

@alophoto Yin and Yang... a beautiful association! So you make me a great pleasure. A bit I let it resonate - in this curve, which crosses the picture and in the emphasized contrast of light and dark. In Yin and Yang lives a great secret. All the philosophies of this world carry it within themselves: The world consists of opposites. However they are not mutually exclusive but dependent on one another... We only know what bright is when we know the dark...

Yes, yin and yang. Stunning.
February 11th, 2017
Oh yes, definitely yin and yang. Fascinating.

If I could fav this more than once i would. I really like the deep contrasts! Obviously you tread very different paths than I do, and that is the fun of a community like this...getting to see what is not the norm, that said I see similarities in this shot with the contrasty street shots that i also enjoy!

@ukandie1 Thank you very much for your nice visit!
Yes - this is the interesting - to see what others are doing. And through the pictures we can see with the eyes of others. The world can always be reinterpreted - an endless story... And it is nice when a picture triggers a resonance at the viewer, an inner string sounds... Then something happens that connects people - a miraculous process that touches me...

The strong, hard lines of the light and shadow is such a contrast to the delicate sparkles of sun reflecting off the snow. Really wonderful capture!
