Wowsiness for the processing!

Your processing has really given this an atmosphere of a tenement. It is sort of grimy, unending, and sad.

I'm with Jane..... It looks like a tenement.... Very well portrayed.

@susale @cejaanderson @aglennc Thanks for your comments.
I have always winced a little when I read comments referring to "processing"- A part of me wishes that my photos do not look "that" processed. But the truth is, I have not posted a photo that was NOT processed since last July.
I like the processing process. I really favor punching up Vibrancy, Saturation & Contrast. HDR stuff. Bokeh.
I am strongly considering spending about $150 on Photoshop Elements & an Alien Skin tool called Bokeh 2 just so I can emulate the "Lensbaby"-look. Check out the work of @Spanner : He uses the real Lensbaby lenses to great effect. I don't yet own a DLSR, so Lensbaby is beyond my means, now, but Bokeh 2 looks pretty cool.
Check out @Spanner :

@jrambo001 You can emulate lensbaby with Picasa and it´s free, I´ve done it for instance here http://365project.org/susale/365/2014-01-07

@jrambo001 John I really like this shot and the processing works fantastically well. It adds a haunting atmosphere.
There is quite a debate about pure photography and processed images. I lean towards processing as it is part of creativity and think it is totally valid. It is important to remember that no matter how good the processing is, if the original shot is rubbish the chances are it will remain rubbish no matter what effects are added.
To have you link my work here is flattering and inspiring. I very much appreciate it.
As Suse said you can recreate the effects of a lensbaby with Picasa which she does with great assurance.
Personally I love my lensbaby and think other than my camera and the 50mm prime it is the best purchase I have made.
You made my morning. Cheers.

@susale Thanks for the Picasa recomendation- I really liked your use of it in your example.. I had Picasa installed on my last laptop but rarely used it, never took the time to get to know it. I just downloaded it for this PC. I will install & check it out- but my thinking is: if Picasa can do it, I bet what I already have, Paintshop Photo Pro & GIMP, can do it, as well. It is just a matter of finding out what "it" is.
