Well, I really wanted to title it "Flower Power", but the folks that did the paint job on this classic VW mini-bus went with mushrooms instead. I'll leave the speculation on the type of mushroom up to you folks. In any case, I spotted this throwback to the Hippie movement right on the North Providence / Smithfield line while I was heading out for my daily photo. It was just too good to pass up.
Post Processing focused on removing some distractions, followed by a series of levels, saturation adjustments, and finally a warming filter. I played with the saturation in stages since I wanted the bus to remain vivid while everything else started to fade. The warming filter brought more color into the surroundings than I wanted, but the effect on the bus was pleasant enough that I kept it.
My sister and her hubby have one of these old VW vans and they used to love taking it to the coast to hang out with the cool surfer crowd. I reckon some of these vans will run forever!
