Surfing Point Judith

With Hurricane Leslie skirting the east coast, surf was running a couple of feet higher than normal. The Surfline forecasts were calling for 6-8 foot swells tomorrow, but that doesn't help the surfers with full time jobs. The 5 foot swells off Point Judith drew quite a crowd today with over 200 surfers in the water at any point in time. Today's shot shows just how compact the crowds were with one surfer paddling back out between two others finishing an incoming wave. Point Judith is listed as suitable for expert surfers only, thanks to the extremely rocky shoreline, so one can only imagine what the crowds were like over at Second Beach.

Post processing started with a highlight recovery filter in Topaz Adjust. Adaptive exposure and contrast sliders were adjusted from there. No other enhancements were made in PSE.
