Kim, through project nest watch on the internet, it says to only go to the nest in the afternoon, or only when the mother is away. You can be certified to watch nests and report findings. I have, costs nothing and is fun.

@taifuugan thanks for the info, I will go onto the website and have a look. I have tried staying away from the nest unless she is away as I dont want to frighten her off. Thanks for your lovely comments.
