water (and a heron & mallards) - December list #27

It was only about 30 degrees when I took this shot. There's a great blue heron roosting in the tree and a couple of mallards in the water. I always wonder why these birds don't want to migrate someplace warmer in this weather.

Oh how fabulous you got so many great birds in one shot. Our neighborhood creek looks very similar to this one. Beautiful photo!

There's something sinister looking about this bird but I agree...he should be looking to migrate south!
