I spent Earth Hour sitting at my kitchen table writing in my journal by two bright tea candles listening to my battery-run cd player. I played on of my new cds - the Red Hot Chili Peppers' new album 'I'm With You' - and enjoyed the silence for an hour while singing to some of their songs.
Writer, poet, artist and prolific reader.... that's me.
I'm a collector of books, vinyls, coin purses and strange handbags... that's me too.
Otherwise, I love...
I really think that would be a neat idea to do your writing by candlelight. I think it would offer a bit of inspiration. I may need to try that one night.
@digitalrn My usual candlestick was too small to hold a decent candle, so I used these tea candles and they were great! I nabbed these from a wedding reception and have used them off and on when the power went out during storms and for Earth Hour... great little holders these ones. :D
And writing by candle light can usually be bad for your eyes, but if you get holders that let off enough reflective light - like these ones - you're okay. So long you can see without squinting, you'll be okay. :D
@digitalrn@bkbinthecity@beteljooz@loey5150 thank you all for your lovely comments. I had a good time and spent my hour well. Makes we wonder why we don't do this more often to know how fortunate we are to have electricity and all the mod-cons at our fingertips. :)

Good effort for Earth Hour. :)
