Pushing through the long grass by pasttheirprime

Pushing through the long grass

Well, this wasn't my intended shot for today. Unfortunately I'm having a battle with Lightroom, and have run out of time to put todays bluebell shot through Post before MotoGP starts. Well, we all have to have priorities... ;)

This is a shot from last weekend, taken using my Sigma 8-16mm ultra wide lens. One of the benefits of the Sigma is that it's highly tolerant when it comes to focus and dof. The hound doesn't generally like having his photo taken, and tends to look away and drift off course when I raise the camera to my eye. This shot was a sneaky one - I essentially shot behind me with the camera at thigh height, relying on the Sigma to provide focus and the Sony to do it's 12 fps thing. It worked better that I had hoped - this has only been lightly cropped and straightened! Better still, I don't think the idiot hound even suspected a thing!

The grass it getting very long on our usual walk - our dog is circa 65kgs and fairly tall with it - but at the moment we can easily lose sight of him as he crashes through the field!

Better on black, if you would oblige!

Thanks for looking

Stu

Made me smile - your hound is so engrossed in his walk he forgot to take any notice of you.
