I didn't bother lugging the DSLR around on today's dog walk. It was cold, and as we were taking a familiar route I decided not to bother.
Mistake
Last night there was a hoar frost, and even though we weren't out early, the sun had yet to hit some of the more sheltered parts of the local woodland.
As the sun's rays took hold of the various trees, the resulting melt rapidly took hold - to the point where it was like walking through heavy rain beneath the trees despite the total absence of clouds above. I've not seen anything like it before
This shot was taken with my ageing phone camera, and processed using the Lightroom app while I sat in the lounge, absorbing warmth from the log burner :)
It's not clear from the shot, but there is a significant amount of water pouring out from under the trees just right of centre.
Given the lighting I wondered if we would be blessed with a ground level rainbow, but not to be on this occasion.
