This is a submission for the technique challenge. It's a rotated reflection of a dam and power plant on the Boise River. The water was extremely still rendering such a crisp reflection that it is easy to overlook it as one. I cropped the photo so that the base of the dam structure and water line are visible. I liked how a bush at my side appears to be overhanging branches when flipped. The buoys on the surface of the water remind me of a string of orange lanterns when rotated. The whole thing makes me a bit dizzy to view actually, but it was a fun photo to take and edit.
Very nice. I find most of these flipped reflections to be somewhat a waste, but I love this. Even though I knew it was flipped, those "lanterns" didn't look at all out of place.
It got my vote, and the competition was good too. The "lanterns" remind me of those globes that are put on power lines to warn low flying aircraft. Fav.
Wow, brilliant flipped reflection! The leaves on the left are an amazing detail!!! And congrats on being a finalist in a challenge - totally makes sense, this is a superb shot!
Very cool flip - the use of the buoys for a string of lights is very creative.
