Tonight, Alex ( http://365project.org/mednez) and I went on a night photography tour/workshop of the city. It went for 3 hours, starting at 7pm and ending at 10pm. We worked our way around Sydney Harbour, from the Opera House to The Rocks, stopping for about 15-20 minutes each time to focus on a new camera feature/technique. It was AWESOME and forced me to step out of my f/1.4 shallow-depth-of-field comfort zone and try new things, and made me appreciate much more in terms of the technical aspects of photography (specifically long exposures at night, which I very rarely do). :D
It was a bit annoying though because ships in the harbour kept drifting slowly across our field of view, obscuring the object of our shots. xD This one, however, happened to work quite well in the shot, stopping just before the Opera House itself. Yay!

I still remember the first time I shot something at night at f/9 and not wide open. I need to get out and take some night shots again, they are so much fun! I really like your composition and the boat worked out perfectly!
the work shop sounds awesome too!
