Tower 5 . Tower of the Adriaans church at Dreischor
After about 1340 the bark, which Dreischor is situated were dammed, still was in the same century the construction of a gothic church dedicated to Saint Adrian started. First came the chorus and after 1400 the two-aisled hall church was built. The church has a side chapel on the north side. Against it originally stood the vestry, which early in the 16th century was replaced by a two-storey sacristy on the south side of the choir. The tower is relatively small and has a spire dating from 1867. ------ During the construction of the tower appeared on subsidence, which led to repeated adjustments during the work. ------ (No drunken workers did the job.)
A great tower and capture -- I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me as I thought the top section of the spire was not in line with the rest of the tower , but your words above bout the subsidence which explains things !!
Do I see the tower slightly tilted or are my eyes playing tricks on me? Our churches, except for the one exception here and there all have two bell towers. A gorgeous capture and love the info.
