Green cup moss or Cladonia fimbriata by pyrrhula

Green cup moss or Cladonia fimbriata

Cup moss resembles moss, but is actually a
lichen. It has leaves between which a
cup sticks up, up to 3 cm high.
Cup moss grows precisely where other plants
do not want to grow, for example in nutrient- poor
dry soils, such as dunes.
Nature is amazing. so I would think you see a lot of it in dry soil, like you say as in dunes. great information. thank you, Ferry fav.

A good photo as it identifies some plants that I've never seen before. I especially like Ann's ( @olivetreeann ) description.

Strange and lovely at the same time. Well spotted and captured. Well done for building the wooden dhow. You should post a picture of it here so that we can admire your craftsmanship.
