BBMF Lancaster showing its topside. I had to pick my son up from his weekend away in Kettering Northamptonshire at 2.00 pm the Lancaster was doing a fly past at Foxton Locks in Leicestershire at 1:30 pm. It's approximately 30 min drive from one to the other! Fortunately the Lancaster was running bang on time so we arrived to pick him up 2 minutes early!
fantastically sharp. my father would have loved this as he was so knowledgeable about and keen on aircraft of all kinds. i like the slight blurring on the propellers. what lens did you use for this?
@pistache Thanks Clare. I use a sigma 150-600 contemporary lens. This was at the full 600 length with a slight crop. Shutter speed was 1/320 which gives a slight blur on the props :)
A phenomenal photo of my favourite aeroplane. The sharpness is amazing with such a long lens at a relatively slow shutter speed. Well done. Definitely a favourite.
Fantastic , Richard! I love being able to see the gunner in the rear, and the artwork (looks like a turkey?) The angle is also terrific.....Thanks for this, Les
