I have had this shot in my head for several days since I spotted a collection of fruit in our kitchen.
This was shot on a very wet and grey day on our fireplace, with my Speedlite bounced off a large white diffuser to soften the light a little.I thought about cloning out the line on the plaster on the wall, but in the end thought that I shouldn't over process.
There is one more shot that I may post tomorrow in my other album, that was more abstract, it was a real toss up between these two, but both hav etheir merits, so both will get an airing!
I like the thought of a small series of shots that are based on Cockney Rhyming Slang, so I will get thinking about other ideas. Feel free to make any suggestions.
Loving your Up the apples & pears shot sean!!.....Cant wait to see what others you put on in this series!....Howzabout a nice cup o Rosie Lee! or gissa bell on the old dog & bone!! : D
@annbo Thanks Ann, yes those two are on the list...Thanks for the great comment about the shot, I always anticipate and look forward to your comments, which always inspire me!
Oh I'm so glad you hauled yourself up, Sean! This is really great.. love the composition and the lighting is great. Who'd have thought apples and pears were not just for eating :P
I love this, too. Can I display it in my kitchen as art? :) Great lighting and composition - and I think you made the right call on processing! Excellent.
This is great Sean. I love the textures and composition. Everything about it is perfect. I also agree with not over processing the shot. Less is more. Oh and the light is fantastic.
Love this! The composition and lighting are great! I'm a freak for patterns anyway. Good call on the processing. I think the texture of the wall adds interest.
@jennywren Thank you Jen, I am very proud of it. Of all the shots I have taken this year, this is on eof my favourite 2 or 3, and will definitely be hanging on a wall sometime soon.
Thank you so very much everyone for such wonderful comments. It is pretty rubbish of me to just send one reply, but I have been overwhelmed by your amazing feedback.over the last few days. As a photographer I have been lucky to hit a rich seam with my last 3 or 4 shots. I am very proud of this, and to receive your accolades, whether short or long, makes me very proud.
