Steam by seanoneill

Steam

Processed in Silver Efex Pro again using the Pinhole preset.

I ummed and aahed about whether to clone the white flecks out at the bottom of the shot, and decided to leave them in.

Love this shot- have an interest in Great Central Railway ( legacy from my dad) and my grand father was a steam train driver. (GNER)

Great shot. I visited Carnforth and Crewe recently and got some lovely shots there. I love steam engines, they are such interesting subjects and I am lucky enough to come into contact with them a lot through my job.

March 13th, 2013

March 13th, 2013

Deb
Love it!! :-)

The graphic approach is very different with much of the engine blacked out. I like what is there very much. Personally, I think it needs just a liitle more base to stand on. Just a hint of wheels or something. However, I recognize I am severely outnumbered by all those favs! Congrats!
March 14th, 2013
Cool shot, love all the steam coming out the sides :)
March 14th, 2013
I think I pushed two times on the button instead of one ...oups !!
Fixed ;)

March 14th, 2013
What a wonderful shot! Fav!
March 14th, 2013
Superb ____fav !
March 14th, 2013
Works for me - not sure I would have thought much about the white blobs if you hadn't have mentioned them. But as you did; yes, I would have have got rid of them - but that's just me.
March 14th, 2013
Fabulous Sean!! I love it! FAV!!! :) I love the steam and if you want to just crop it up a bit from the bottom then you wouldnt have to do all that work cloning! Either Way it is a Wonderful Capture!! FAV+

March 16th, 2013
Oh WOW! Amazing shot Sean. I know the right pre-set in Silver FX helps, but this is brilliant anyway and not just because I probably 'spotted' this one in the sidings in the Meadows, Nottingham, when I was 13 years old! Truly wonderful! You could sell this shot if you wanted to compromise your art! Fav!
March 19th, 2013
@yrhenwr I wouldn't know where to start selling my work David. I would happily email a hi res copy of this to you for free though. A thank you for your friendship and support.
March 19th, 2013
@seanoneill Sean I would try to print it and send you a copy, if you haven't already done that yourself. You can reach me at:
