Holding Up Norway Spruce_SF

This is another photo for my Through (Sam's) Lens section in the Technician. I technically took this on the 26th but it ran on the 28th. I took this photo the same day as the guy in the chemistry lab and this photo was taken first but I found something else to get a photo of in case I did not hear back from this guy in this photo for more information as he was not listed in my campus directory even though he gave me his campus e-mail address. He did write me back that night of the 26th but I thought it would have been too late and personally I thought the other photo was a bit more interesting. Also, that photo from the previous day to my pleasant surprise ran in color and on the front page. The caption reads: "Ryan Cornett, a senior studying landscape architecture, carefully examines branches from a Norway spruce in the area by the Free Expression Tunnel Monday. Cornett was writing down descriptions of various plants around campus as part of a plant identification lab for his Ornamental Plant Identification class. "Plant ID is a demanding course that helps students characterize, classify, and identify the more popular native species of plants around campus and in North Carolina as a whole. This course requires students to have an appreciation and understanding for North Carolina's vegetation and teaches each student over 225 plants each semester" Cornett said."
Great photo. Tells a story.

Congratulations on a front page color photo! Excellent! This is a good shot too. I think both of them bring you into the picture and show the dedication of the person to their chosen field.
