You might have guessed, I rode my bike to work again today. A gray morning ride but at about 3:00 the sun finally burned off the clouds and so a sunny ride home. Seattle is hilly, very hilly, and I enjoy my ride to work so much more than my ride home. There are ups and downs both directions but there are a lot more opportunities for long downhill coasts on the way into work. I have a couple of routes that attempt to take out some of the longer uphill climbs on my way home, but that adds mileage. I have opted for more hills less miles for these first couple of rides in.
I did not take this shot, clearly. One of my sons was up for being my photographer so while I tried to shout instructions for where I wanted him to stand and at what angle I wanted him to hold the camera and not to get his shadow in the shot... This was our best attempt. The sun was behind the tree at the top of our street and I was conscious that we were going to loose the ability to see shadows within a short period of time. Pretty close to what I had in mind in the end.
edit: crop, Heat Map in autotrophic mode, boost then Lomo-ish
He captured the shadow well. Nicely shot. I am in awe of your bike riding to work. Great job at being green. Hopefully the weather will continue to shine.
He did a great job! A lot more people should bike to work, incl. myself. Do it occasionally but could almost every day, just excuses and lazy in mornings!
