Impatient Commuter

Westlake Station, Downtown Seattle
year 2, day 32

A gorgeous day today in contrast to yesterday's gray mess. The sun was actually so bright today that I had to pull the shades at work to keep the light off the computer.

This is not the shot I thought I would be putting up today. With good weather and the moon out and the carousel out at westlake park I was sure that there was something from my walk to the bus that would make the cut. I took a bunch of shots but this woman's foot kept catching my eye when going through the shots. I usually save practicing the long exposure shots underground for the rainy days when I can't be bothered to take anything else (or I assume that everything else will be crap) but was playing around today. That toe up pose with the black boots just kept pulling me in tonight.

I will save the carousel for another night I guess.

edit: crop, play with temp and sat, exp & cont, some cross process and adjustable threshhold and a little sepia and some sharpening (I think that's all of it)
Oh I like this! The fast train, the tilt, her stance... Great shot! Fav.

Great shot! I agree that the right foot makes it. Its almost like she just missed the streaking train and is a little pissed about it. Nice one.

I hear you! People think this time of year is hard to photograph because it's dark but I'm getting some fantastic pictures because of this. Also the air is clearer which is making for crisper pictures. Excellent choice and an excellent photograph. It tells the story very well.
